VCA Bay Area Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Hospital, a large, multi-specialty 24-hour referral practice located in San Leandro, is ready to welcome an emergency veterinarian. The hospital is well established in the community. Currently we have specialty services including internal medicine, cardiology, radiology, oncology and surgery. The clinic has a large emergency and urgent care caseload and we have a boarded criticalist. In house radiology  (DACVR) services are available daily as well.  Naturally, with all these specialists, we also have all the latest 'œtoys' (diagnostic, therapeutic and monitoring) that are needed to support them including a linear accelerator, C-Arm, CT, and DR. 

Our brand new 28-patient ICU and Emergency building (which also houses Internal medicine and Cardiology services) is now completed and included a brand-new ICU, renovated emergency room, isolation ward, multiple procedure rooms, 7 exam rooms, radiology, and doctor offices/work space!

We have 8 full time ER veterinarians on staff currently, and with our busy service '“ we are looking to add a 9th ER doctor. We are interested in candidates who have performed a small animal internship.  The position consists of a rotating schedule with some day, swing, and overnight shifts.  Our ER doctors generally work an average of 12 shifts/month. We are searching for someone who can integrate into a collaborative hospital that provides the highest quality of medicine while maintaining our focus on work-life balance.
