At SNKC, we’re fighting every day to end pet homelessness. And we need a skilled veterinarian who’s ready to change the world with us.
Our veterinarians are responsible for supporting our mission in several capacities including our walk-in Wellness Care Clinic, offsite vaccination clinics and spay/neuter surgery clinic. Clinic locations vary and will include both Missouri and Kansas.
Essential duties include:
Provide excellent customer service and educate clients on the needs of their pet(s).
Supervise patient flow to maximize quantity and quality of services provided.
Ability to spay and neuter a minimum of 40-50 pets a day
Complete wellness examinations and treatments in a competent, safe and efficient manner.
Maintain complete individual patient medical records.
Examine animals prior to services including surgery, treatments, vaccinations.
Provide in-house treatment to animals as needed with the resources available and/or refer to appropriate referral clinic or hospital aligning with the mission and policies of SNKC.
Work with a committee in the development of standard operating procedures.
Assist in monitoring and ordering of medical supplies, inventory and equipment maintenance.
Conduct research on ways to improve processes and efficiencies in the surgery clinic
Lead in staff supervision, training and corrective action for immediate staff.
Demonstrate excellent leadership skills to support overall mission, core values and success of the team.
Supervision of 2-3 support staff members.
Must have currently or be willing to obtain (in reasonable time) a Missouri and Kansas license.
Must be willing to obtain (in reasonable time) a DEA license.
Must have currently or be willing to obtain (in reasonable time) BNDD for Missouri.
Must be able to commute to both KS and MO clinic locations.
Must be a currently licensed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
Must be available full-time Tuesday through Saturday.
Additional Salary Information: Salary may be negotiable pending performance and experience. Base salary does not include an annual expense account. An annual expense account is provided separately for veterinarians in the amount of $1200 annually for job-related expenses such as licensing, text books, etc. This position includes employee benefits such as paid holidays (as applicable in accordance to agency policies), optional health coverage with shared cost by SNKC, optional dental and life insurance, discounted services for personal pets and 120 hours of paid time off.
