Emergency Veterinarian - Rohnert Park, CA
VCA
VCA Animal Care Center of Sonoma County is seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinarian to join our well-established 24-hour specialty referral practice in Rohnert Park, California—located in the heart of beautiful Sonoma County. The successful candidate will be able to integrate into a collaborative hospital that provides the highest quality of medicine while maintaining our focus on work-life balance. The hospital started off as an emergency practice and grew into a well-respected specialty and referral center, moving into our existing 18,000 sq. ft. facility 12 years ago. A former movie multiplex was completely remodeled to accommodate our large specialty practice with 17 exam rooms, 4 surgical suites and plenty of room to grow. Today, we are a team of 17 doctors, 30 technicians (17 of them registered) who pride ourselves on our collaborative approach to patient care and for representing almost all specialties including rehabilitation. As you can imagine, a beautiful building with a large and experienced staff also needs some “toys” and here, too, VCA ACC does not disappoint: 1.5T MRT, on-site 8 slice spiral CT, endoscopy and laparoscopy equipment, GE Vivid E9 cardiac ultrasound machine with bipane transesophageal probe, Philips touch 6 lead ECG machine, abdominal ultrasound machine, 3 O2 cages, a fully equipped cardiac catheterization suite including a GE OEC 9800 fluoroscope, underwater treadmill, non-invasive surgical scoping equipment, and other state-of-the-art equipment. State-of-the-art equipment is essential, but useless without a good team. We are particularly proud of our team approach – we strive for a cohesive and collegial relationship with one another and with our valued referring veterinarian partners. This is as much a family as it is a place of employment, and we are looking for a cardiologist with the same approach to practice. Appropriate candidates for this position should be friendly, outgoing, happy, dynamic and enthusiastic and ready to join a fast-paced, friendly group of professionals. There is a plaque at our hospital that says: “Committed to excellence and exemplary care of pets and their human companions”. That is the central theme and fundamental belief of everyone who works here and permeates everything we do. It is expected that anyone applying for our position live by the same core belief.
As a member of the VCA family, your passion for medicine and compassion for pets and people is matched with a commitment to your professional growth. Among the reasons to consider joining VCA are:
